We're so sorry to hear of Dereks' untimely death. He is the same age that Wayne was; and it's young. But knowing Derek was a child of our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST is a blessing. Our prayers are with the family.

Sherry,
I remember like it was yesterday when Derek and myself attended a Wednesday night service with Bruce. I remember the preacher asking any of those who were not saved, to raise their hands. I remember feeling Derek's arm brush against me as it flew up in the air. The preacher then asked those that raised their hand, to come to the front. Tears ran down my cheek, as Derek wasted not one moment, he darted to the front of the church. Derek accepted Jesus into his heart and as he returned to the seat next to me, he had the biggest, brightest smile plastered on his face. Derek was saved. He was reborn. He was new.

Derek loved God and he loved The Word.
I have no doubt, that even now as I write this, Derek is inJesus' arms. I have no doubt, that when we too pass away, Derek will be waiting for us, grinning that same lovely grin.
I love you dearly, you're in my prayers.
God Bless,
Bethany

So sorry for your loss! I remember babysitting your boys and watching them have fun on the trampoline...Finally had enough nerve to get on and jump for a bit and my first few jumps I totally misjudged the landing and fell off the trampoline and rolled down the hill a bit...I was laughing so hard they didn't know if I was laughing or crying...fun times!

Praying for you and your family.

Bruce, Sherry and family,

Jenny and I are shocked and saddened by this. We so enjoyed Derek the short time he stayed with us 8 years ago. Big smile, sharp wit and such a sense of humor! Derek did tell us of his faith in Jesus and as Christians we share with you the hope of eternity with Him. So sorry for your loss! May God bless you pressed down and shaken together and may He fill you with His Spirit anew as you walk this difficult path.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious Derek. I'll always remember his "tackle hugs" when I asked for a snuggle. That boy would run across the room and dive into my arms at the speed of a jet plane. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
