On June 1, 1984, the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home in Shinglehouse was purchased by Kevin J. Dusenbury, Sr., continuing a long tradition of proud service to the Shinglehouse and surrounding areas that was started many years ago by Howard D. Morton and continued by Virgil L. Howard. As we mark 30 years of ownership and service to Shinglehouse and the surrounding communities, our pledge is simple. We will continue to provide the honored and dignified services that we offer to the families that choose our funeral home establishment. With the addition of our son, Kevin J. Dusenbury, Jr., we will be providing the finest in services and facilities that you expect from our funeral home for many, many years to come. We would like to express our greatest appreciation for all of those who have trusted upon us to help in your greatest hour of need. As Albert Einstein stated, “Only a life lived in service to others is worth living.” Like Mr. Einstein, our greatest purpose in our funeral establishment is to help you at your greatest hour of need.
Kevin and Patty you are both awesome people, Kevin you helped Me and my son Cody so much during the passing of Joseph. You sat at our kitchen table and made us feel at ease with what we had no idea where to turn next. From planning Joseph’s Celebration of Life Service to helping with all the Military Honor Guard and the Patriot Riders to helping us get his Military Bronze plaque for his grave. Joe’s Living Will was just as he wanted things and then some. You came highly recommended to me when I knew that is was time we needed to get things arranged. You called every day checking on us and you didn't have to do that. This just shows me that you really care about us folks who have no idea about things. Thank you so much Kevin and Patty for all you did for us. I would highly recommenced anyone who needs your services to contact you. Many Hugs to you both! Robin Formoso and Cody Petteys
