June L. Kelligan “beautiful soul”

SMETHPORT, Pa.---June L. Kelligan, 75, a resident of Sena Kean Manor in Smethport, formerly of Coudersport, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, February 15, 2021, in UPMC Hamot, Erie, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on Saturday, March 17, 1945 in Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, a daughter of Howard R. Livingston and Dorothy L. Eaton.

June was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University where she majored in Sociology and obtained a secondary degree in Spanish. She lived most of her life in Pennsylvania and Texas but also lived in California, New Mexico, Colorado and New York. June had several careers throughout her life, the most enjoyable for her being the program coordinator for the Meals on Wheels program in Amarillo, Texas and being a taxi cab driver in the Denver, Colorado area.

June loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, writing poetry and songs, reading, and arts and crafts of all types.

Leaving behind are a cherished mother-in-law, Evelyn “Nanny” Allen of Coudersport; five children, Lorrie (Randy) Riale of Port Allegany, Patrick (Sheila) Kelligan of Raeford, North Carolina, Michael Kelligan of Port Allegany, and Timothy Kelligan and Amber (Tom) Saiz, both of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Paula Livingston of central Pa.; a brother, Peter Livingston of Fullerton, California; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who she cared for very much.

In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her grandparents, Mort and Hazel Eaton; and her brother, Michael Livingston.

There will be no public visitation. A celebration of June’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Craft Fund at Sena Kean Manor, 17083 Route 6, Smethport, PA 16749.

June’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
