Betty J. Kulp “beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend”
ROULETTE, PA---Betty J. Ruth Kulp, 81, of Roulette, passed away peacefully with her loving son and daughter by her side on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
Born on October 26, 1945, in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Israel Willard and Evelyn Schueck Ruth.
Betty grew up in the Harleysville and Souderton area and was a proud 1963 graduate of Souderton High School. Shortly after marrying her beloved husband, "Butch," on November 28, 1964 in Telford, PA, the couple relocated to Roulette, where they built their life and raised their family.
A woman of immense heart, dedication, and care, Betty spent her life serving her family, her faith, and her community. She was a dedicated member of the Fishing Creek Methodist Church. For many years, she poured her energy into her home as a devoted stay-at-home mom and ran a welcoming home daycare, providing a safe, nurturing environment for local children. Later in life, she brought her warmth and dependable nature to the roads, working for several years as a local school bus driver. She ultimately transitioned to a role as a transport service person for Potter County Human Services, eventually retiring from the same place as her husband, marking the end of a long and dedicated career for them both.
Outside of work, Betty shared a deep and beautiful bond with her husband. Together, they found great joy in the outdoors, sharing a love for hunting, fishing, and spending cherished time at their camp at Lamoka Lake. Whether raising her family, caring for the children in her neighborhood, or enjoying her retirement, her life was defined by her kindness, her work ethic, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved.
She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband of over 50 years, Andrew L. “Butch” Kulp, Sr., who passed away in 2015.
She is survived by her devoted children, Andrew L. “Andy” Kulp, Jr. of Roulette, and Tanya D. (George Steckel) Drabert of Bethlehem; and her two cherished grandsons, Ronald Drabert and Nick Steckel. She is also survived by her brother, Jay Ruth and his wife Kathleen, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Betty’s name may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Betty entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
