Carol A. Predmore “loving wife, mother, and grandmother”
COUDERSPORT, PA---Carol A. Predmore, 85, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a period of declining health.
Born on Thursday, October 19, 1939 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Francis and Frances Kolat Shalkowski. On August 26, 1961 in St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport, she married Gary A. Predmore, who passed away on May 26, 1998. They were married for 36 years.
Carol was a graduate of Coudersport High School. She was first employed as an operator for Bell Telephone in Coudersport. For many years, Carol was employed as an admissions clerk at the former Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport.
Carol was a very active life member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church and of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She faithfully served on the funeral dinner committee and the rummage sales at the church. She was a life member of the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, serving as an EMT for many years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department. She delivered Meals on Wheels in Coudersport. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Colleen M. (Bill) Majot of Coudersport; a son Joel G. (Julie) Predmore of Elizabeth, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Eric (Kara) Majot, Kory (Michelle) Majot, William (Kaitlynn) Majot, Bradley Majot, Brianna (Nevada) Waterman, Olivia Predmore, Cambrie (Ethan Biox) Predmore, and Makenzie Predmore; six great-grandchildren, Xzander, Austin, Mason, Dylan, Oaklee, and Wyatt; a niece; and a nephew; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Predmore.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was predeceased by a son, Dean J. Predmore; twin infant grandsons, Jackson Waterman and Finn Waterman; and a brother, Donald Shalkowski.
Family and friends may call from 10am to 11am on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in the Gathering Space of St. Eulalia Catholic Church, 6 Maple Street, Coudersport. A memorial Mass will follow at 11am in St. Eulalia Catholic Church. Carol will be laid to rest in St. Eulalia Catholic Cemetery with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carol’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Carol’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
