Cheryl L. Scoville Phelps “beloved wife, mother, grammy, sister, and friend”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Cheryl L. Scoville Phelps, 64, of Coudersport, went to be with the Lord, at home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Wednesday, April 20, 1955 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Arlo B. and Esther “Teenie” Erb Scoville. On July 11, 1970 in Andrews Settlement, she married the love of her life, Paul J. Phelps, Jr., who survives. They lived in Coudersport for 49 years where they raised their family.
Cheryl attended Northern Potter High School. She was a homemaker for 12 years in the Coudersport area, before being employed from what is now the Coudersport Shop N Save, retiring after 32 years of service.
Cheryl absolutely loved nothing more than her grandchildren, her family, racing, snowmobiling, four wheeling, crocheting, working in her flower beds, bowling, her fabulous Christmas parties, and her and Paul’s cabin on the hill.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 49 years, Paul; her children, Bryan (Calee) Phelps, Paula (Mike) Tarabori, and Theresa (Gary, Jr. “Bill”) Denhoff, all of Coudersport; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Brianna) Phelps of Tucson, Arizona, David Ruberto of Aliquippa, Zachary Phelps, Nicholas Phelps, Clayton Tarabori, Taylor Tarabori, Kirsten Denhoff, and Lane Denhoff, all of Coudersport; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Merle “Butch” Scoville of Genesee and William “Bill” (Sherry) Scoville of Blasdell, N.Y.; a brother-in-law, Kenny Rogers, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Easton, both of Coudersport; several nieces and nephews; and MANY GREAT friends.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her father-in-law and her mother-in-law, Paul and Ethel Phelps; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Rogers.
Family and friends may call from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 9 pm on Monday, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 with the Rev. Howard R. Burnham, pastor emeritus of Hebron Union Church, Coudersport, officiating.

Cheryl’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
