Darlene M. Donohue                 “beloved mother, grandmother, and companion”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Darlene M. Donohue, 68, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Friendship, NY, was called to be with the Lord, unexpectedly in her home on Friday, July 4, 2025.

Born on Saturday, March 16, 1957 in Lackawanna, NY, she was a daughter of Gerald and Virginia Fuller Rauber. On March 22, 1975 in Lockport, NY, she married David E. Donohue, who passed away on January 2, 2009. She was the companion of Robert Wylie for many years.

Darlene was a graduate of Lockport (NY) High School. For many years she was employed at the former Community Bank in Friendship, NY as a teller, eventually becoming head teller. She was a caregiver at the Hinsdale House Rehab Center where she lovingly cared for her clients. Her last position before her retirement was serving as the Clara Township (PA) secretary.

Darlene was a longtime member of the Friendship Bible Baptist Church in Friendship, NY. She enjoyed gardening and loved being at any beach. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Matthew D. M. (Rhonda) Donohue of Friendship, NY; a daughter, Melinda S. (John) Karver of Shinglehouse; a son-in-law, John Holly, Jr. of Friendship, NY; her companion, Robert Wylie of Shinglehouse; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Robert W. (Michelle) Wylie of E. Norriton, PA and Kevin P. (Crystal) Wylie of Willow Grove, PA; five brothers; a sister; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Darlene was predeceased by a daughter, Diane M. Holly; and three brothers.

Family and friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Friendship Bible Baptist Church, 43 W. Main Street, Friendship, NY, where funeral services will follow at 1pm with Pastor Duane Broadwell, officiating. Darlene will be laid to rest with her husband in Mount View Cemetery, Olean, NY.
