Edna L. Hunt âbeloved mother and grandmotherâ
ELDRED, PA---Edna L. Hunt, 90, of Barbertown Road, Eldred, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 in her home following a lengthy illness.
Born May 30, 1922 in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of William E. and Bertha L. Black Besse. On November 7, 1944 in Portville, NY, she married Matthew J. Hunt who died on March 3, 2003.
Mrs. Hunt attended country school on Kings Run in Ceres and also attended school in Bolivar, NY. She was a domestic care provider in her home and had also been employed by Hilton (NY) High School in the custodial department.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of the Ceres United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, needlework, and reading. She loved her dogs.
Surviving are a son, Dennis W. Hunt of Myrtle Beach, SC; a daughter, Rhonda Sue (Gary) LaDue of Hamlin, NY; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hunt was predeceased by her parents and husband.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday (June 18, 2012), with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Ceres United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Ceres, PA.
