SHARON CENTER, PA---Fae V. Beam, 98, of Sharon Center, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at the home of her friend and caregiver, Lanna Kellert in Oswayo, PA

Born October 19, 1918 in Frederick, Maryland, a daughter of Joseph and Minnie Ridenhour Artz Sr.  On October 4, 1947, she married Thomas R. Beam, who passed away on May 26, 2000.

Mrs. Beam was a graduate of Williamsport High School in Maryland.  She and her husband owned and operated the former Knotty Pine Tavern in Sharon Center for 16 years.  She retired from the former Hewitt Manor Nursing Home in Shinglehouse.

Mrs. Beam was a member of the First Christian Church in Downsville, MD. Fae enjoyed her vegetable garden and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sisters, Margaret Smith of Abington, Barbara Bricehner of Hagerstown, MD, and Bonnie Lou Grenier of New Hampshire; a brother, James Artz of Boonsboro, MD; three step-children, John (Judy) Beam of Conway, South Carolina, Dorothy Baeder of East Earl, and Richard Beam of Virginia; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Beam was predeceased by three brothers; three sisters; and a step-daughter, Anna Alligood.

At Mrs. Beam’s request, there will be no public visitation.  Graveside burial services will be held in Hatboro Cemetery, Hatboro.

Mrs. Beam’s care has been entrusted to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
