SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Mr. Francis C. “Fran†Newton, 34, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016.
Born on August 6, 1981 in Olean, NY, he was a son of Clyde E. and Gerri M. App Newton.
Fran was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Shinglehouse, Class of 1999. He was employed as a manager at Newton’s Convenience Store in Shinglehouse.
Fran was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He loved his cats and collecting coins.
Surviving besides his parents of Shinglehouse are two sisters, Lisa M. Newton of Shinglehouse and Jenny L. Newton of North Carolina; his paternal grandmother, Janice M. Osborn of Shinglehouse; two nieces, Laya M. Phillips and Eva M. Colbey; two uncles, Scott (Sally) Newton of Smethport and John Newton of Shinglehouse; and two aunts, Terri (Jim Dugan) Clark of Andover, NY and Lori (Don) Huff of Monroe, Georgia.
Fran was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Francis Charles Newton; and his maternal grandparents, Fred E. App and Helen M. App.
There will be no public visitation. A celebration of Fran’s life will be held on a date and place to be announced. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Potter County Animal Assistance Project, PO Box 25, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Fran’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
