Gary J. Hurley “beloved husband, father, and grandfather”

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Gary J. Hurley, 74, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born on Wednesday, July 23, 1947 in Batavia, N.Y., he was a son of Harold H. and Eleanor Clark Hurley. On June 8, 1969 in the Ulysses Methodist Church, Ulysses, he married Neita D. Seeley, who survives.
Gary was a graduate of LeRoy High School in LeRoy, N.Y. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War era for 3 years.
Gary was a lifelong truck driver. He enjoyed working on small engines and had previously owned and operated a small engine repair business. The last few years, he enjoyed using his computer.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Gary J. Hurley, Jr. of Conesus, N.Y.; a daughter, Terry L. (Kevin) Smith of Shinglehouse; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Bill) Pratt of Perry, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was predeceased by his parents.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services. A celebration of life for Gary will be held in the summer of 2022.

Gary’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
