Grace H. Aumiller          “beloved mother and grandmother”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Grace H. Aumiller, 82, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness.

Born on September 24, 1934 in Cross Fork, she was a daughter of John E. and Eva G. Terrette Simons.  On July 8, 1949 in Shinglehouse, she married Howard L. Aumiller, Sr., who passed away on January 7, 1995.

Grace attended Shinglehouse High School.  She was employed coating units at AVX Corporation in Olean, retiring after 28 years of service.  She later was employed by Advanced Monolithic Ceramics in Olean for several years.

Grace loved bowling, gardening, and playing cards, video games, and Yahtzee. She most especially loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sons, Dale E. Aumiller of Shinglehouse, Donald G. (Mindi) Aumiller of Shinglehouse, and Howard L. “Jack” Aumiller of Campbellsville, KY; four daughters, Susan K. Aumiller of Bolivar, NY, Patricia L. (Victor) Austin of Hinsdale, NY, Melody L. “Sam” (Jeff) Dunkleman of Vine Grove, KY, and Stacy L. (Joseph Reagle) Johnston of Ceres, NY; fifteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dr. Willard L. “Bill” (Marie) Simons of Cuba, NY, Howard P. “Scuff” (Linea) Simons of Shinglehouse, and Michael J. (Rosita) Simons of Shinglehouse; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was predeceased by a grandson, Howard Lewis Aumiller III.

In keeping with Grace’s wishes, there are currently no services planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.

Grace’s family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
