James William Crum, Sr.
TURTLEPOINT, PA---James William âJimâ Crum, Sr., 67, of Turtlepoint, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born January 1, 1945 in Wellsville, NY, he was a son of Howard Crum and Dorothy Hedden Crum Smith. On December 3, 1962 in Coudersport, he married Madeline L. âPatâ Meacham, who survives.
Jim was a lifelong resident of Turtlepoint. For many years he was employed as a farmer and mechanic for the former G.L. Carlson, Inc. of Turtlepoint and later worked for Adelphia Communications in Coudersport in the maintenance department.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching westerns on TV.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, James W. (Laine) Crum, Jr. of Eldred, Jeffery D. Crum of Johnsonburg, and Steven H. (Patricia) Crum of Port Allegany; a daughter, Debra A. (Anthony) Cherico of Sligo; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Kevin) Mariner of Westover, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Crum was predeceased by his stepfather, George Smith; and a brother, Robert Crum.
In keeping with Jimâs wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
