James E. Fetzer         “beloved husband and father”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---James E. Fetzer, 82, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Saturday, January 25, 2014.
     Born January 19, 1932 in Blair County, PA, he was a son of Daniel R. and Goldie E. Croft Fetzer.  On June 4, 1954 in Alma, NY, he married Donna J. Taylor, who survives.
     Jim attended school in Hollidaysburg, PA where he excelled in wrestling.  He was employed for 42 years at Cutco Corporation in Olean, NY, retiring as master tool and die maker.
     Jim loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling.  His greatest love was his family.
     Surviving besides his wife are five children, James E. Fetzer and John R. (Debra) Fetzer, both of Shinglehouse, Jeanne L. (Chuck) Glogouski of Rome, Ohio, and Julie A. (Adam) Stannard and Jennifer L. (Mark) Meacham, both of Shinglehouse; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara A. (Bernard) Adams of Shinglehouse and Marilee (Ray) Henry of Hollidaysburg; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by a brother, Jack Fetzer; and three sisters, Helen L. Atkinson, Ann Kirby, and Florence Mae Fetzer , whom Jim and Donna lovingly made a home for her for many years.
     In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA.
      Flowers are gratefully declined.  Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to Potter County Hospice, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
