James E. “Jim” Schultz       “beloved husband, father, and grandfather”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---James E. “Jim” Schultz, 79, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Wellsville Manor, Wellsville, NY, after a short illness.
     Born August 27, 1935 in Lockport, NY, he was a son of Clarence and Susan Callahan Schultz.  On May 28, 1971 in Emporium, he married Audrey L. Easton, who survives.
     He was a graduate of DeSales High School in Lockport.  Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having attained the rank of drill sergeant.  
     He was employed as a precision machinist at Dresser Rand Industries in Olean, NY for many years, retiring on January 1, 2001.
     He was a member of the American Amateur Radio League which is a ham radio operators association, a member of the NRA, and a member of the North American Hunting Club.  In his younger years, Jim enjoyed hunting.  He loved riding his Harley.  His family lovingly referred to him as “Mopar Man”.  His greatest love was his family and his faithful dog, Mikie.
     Surviving besides his loving wife of 43 years are three sons, James J. (Susan) Schultz of Wilson, NY, Jeffrey R. (Marilyn) Schultz of Niagara Falls, NY, and Herman L. (Pam) Burrows of Portville, NY; a daughter-in-law, Pamela J. Schultz of Shinglehouse; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a stepbrother, Leslie Brewer of Lockport; a brother-in-law, Melvin (Sue) Easton of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by two daughters, Melodie M. Schultz and Yavonne A. Wolfe; a son, Scott B. “Scotty” Schultz; three brothers, Michael, Cornelius, and Robert; a sister, Sarah; and a stepsister, Lois.
     There will be no public visitation.  A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on a date and place to be announced.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to a S.P.C.A. of the donor’s choice.
     Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
