Jason Ian Quinn        “graveside burial service slated”

 

Shinglehouse, Pa.---Jason Ian Quinn was born February 27, 1984 in Coudersport PA to John W. Quinn, Jr. and Laura M. Palidar.  He passed away on February 17, 2018.

 

He graduated from Oswayo Valley High School in 2002. His secondary education included Pratt at Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica then progression to Pratt Institute main Campus in Brooklyn, NY graduating in 2006. Jason was a gifted artist in various mediums – drawing and painting, sculpture in ice and wood, poetry, and modeling. Additionally he attended Edinboro University and Queens CUNY in the field of education; Monroe Community College and University of Rochester studying medical curriculum. In 2010 he enlisted with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and served in the capacity of medic. Through transfer to the Army Reserve Sgt. Jason I. Quinn was scheduled to report to Ft. Sam Houston late February to pursue education and training in the field of nursing.

 

His interests were entrepreneurial opportunities, camping, maintaining good physical health through exercise, gardening, cooking, and the arts. Jason was a contemplative person which is expressed in his writings and paintings. He often volunteered in the Rochester community through the church he attended

and missions for the homeless. His achievements included recognition from the Vermeer Delft Museum in the Netherlands, publication of his work in the university catalog, writings of poetry and Veterans' Day observance, jury selected portrait exhibit in a New York City gallery, assignment as security and medic for the Presidential Inauguration and the Papal visit to Philadelphia, continued study of Christian belief, growing stronger in faith knowing that love is the best gift to give or receive.

 

Jason was one of three sons; brothers are Erich S. Quinn of Pittsburgh, PA and Brandon J. Quinn married to Tanya Studley of Shinglehouse.

 

Jason you will be missed. Love Mom, Dad, Brandon, and Erich. Be with God. Be safe in his arms now and forever. Amen.

 

Family and friends are invited to a graveside memorial and committal service officiated by Fr. Sean DiMaria at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Maple Grove Cemetery in Shinglehouse.

 

Jason’s family entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
