Jennie B. Hosmer âbeloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmotherâ
BOLIVAR, NY---Jennie B. Hosmer, 83, a lifelong resident of Bolivar, passed away with her loving family at her side on Monday, May 21, 2012 in Heritage Hall Nursing Home, King George, Virginia after a long illness.
Born November 15, 1928 in Wellsville, she was a daughter of Adrain Allen and Ruth Crandall Quick. On December 11, 1948 in Bolivar, she married Charles M. Hosmer, who died on August 22, 2004.
Mrs. Hosmer was a member of the House of Prayer Fellowship Church in Bolivar, which her husband founded in 1962. Mrs. Hosmerâs son-in-law, Roy Elliott currently serves as pastor of the church.
Jennie was a very caring person who deeply loved and cared for her family. Her greatest love was for the Lord.
Surviving are two daughters, Terry L. (Roy) Elliott of Bolivar and Lillian âVanessaâ (David) Funk of Stafford, VA; four sons, Steven M. (Mary) Hosmer of Silver Creek, John C. (Patty of Bolivar) Hosmer of Belmont, Timothy I. (Debbie) Hosmer of Andover, and Paul J. (Robin) Hosmer of Fredericksburg, VA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne (Joyce) Quick of Rochester; three sisters, Rose Reynolds of Shinglehouse, PA, Arlene (Gerald) Dunsmore of Georgia, and Elnora âTuddieâ Snodgrass of Smethport, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hosmer was predeceased by two brothers.
Friends may call at the House of Prayer Fellowship Church, 908 South Bolivar Road, Bolivar, on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 11 a.m. to noon at which time funeral services will follow. Pastor Roy Elliott, Mrs. Hosmerâs son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the House of Prayer Fellowship Church, 908 South Bolivar Road, Bolivar, NY 14715.
