Uncle John I will miss you more than I can say.  There are not enough words to put here in this message to truly resonate how much I love you.  You were someone I could sit down with and talk about anything without the casting of any type of judgement. You were my Sunday School teacher who I enjoyed sitting with and having fellowship with our other Brothers and Sisters in Christ.  I will miss you so much!  You were not just my Uncle, you were my brother in arms, my mentor and my friend.  My prayers for comfort for the entire Wood family and all of your friends who I know you made their lives better with your presence and wit.  Give Melinda a big hug for me.  I love you Uncle John!!

So sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Wood. I have only had the honor knowing Mr. Wood for about a year as he was one of my patients at the VA Clinic. I really enjoyed the time we could spend together when he came to the clinic. He always had a kind word to say and was always so upbeat and positive. It was an honor to have served him, as he had served so long for others. I will miss him coming in and will miss the talks we would have. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Aim high, my friend.

I had the pleasure and honor of meeting Mr. Wood when he came to our Veterans' Day program at Coudersport High School two years ago.  His vibrant personality and easy manner made him a hit with the students and a true comrade of the other visiting veterans.  We were all better for getting to know him.  My deepest sympathy to his family.  God's speed, Mr. Wood.
