Judy A. App                           “beloved mother and grandmother”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Judy A. App, 81, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Eldred, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 4, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

Born on Friday, November 26, 1943 in Clymer, she was a daughter of Lewis “Sonny” and Alta Haggerty Galentine. On May 31, 1969 in Eldred, she married William H. App, who passed away on February 8, 2021.

Judy attended Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. In her younger years, she was employed at Ka-Bar Cutlery in Olean and later was employed at the Oswayo Valley School District in Shinglehouse retiring as head cook after 35 years of service.

Judy enjoyed gardening and camping, especially at Lamoka Lake. Her greatest love was her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim (Bernadine) Galentine of Shinglehouse, Susan Moore of Grand Prairie, TX, Lisa (Scott Aaron) App of Portville, NY, Deanna App of Shinglehouse, and Julie (Brian) Metcalf of Shinglehouse; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Debbie Greene of West Springfield and Ashley Galentine of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was predeceased by a grandson; a granddaughter, and two brothers.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no public services.

Memorials, if desired, may be made in Judy’s name to the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library, PO Box 188, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.

Judy’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
