SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Keith M. Hopkins, 53, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Hornell, N.Y., passed away in his home on Saturday, September 14, 2019, after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Born on Friday, January 14, 1966 in Liberty, N.Y., he was a son of Stuart and Nettie Meyers Hopkins. 

Keith was a graduate of Hornell High School.  Known as DJ Keith, he performed DJ music services for 35 years in local bars and community events, often at no charge to help with fund raising benefits.  He also mowed lawns and did odd jobs in the community.

Keith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse.  He enjoyed traveling and watching pro wrestling on television. 

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved companion of 11 years, Deidrah L. Shutt of Shinglehouse; several brothers and sisters; and Rebecca “Becca” Drew, who Keith loving referred to as “Dee’s Kid”, and his honorary grandson, Zachary, who he dearly loved.

Keith was predeceased by his parents and a brother.

In honoring Keith’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.

Keith’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Keith’s name may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
