Kenneth L. Rogers “beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother”
COUDERSPORT, PA---Kenneth L. “Kenny” Rogers, 85, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, passed away in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Thursday, September 7, 1939 in Coudersport, he was a son of Raymond and Katherine Littlefield Rogers. On September 16, 1967 in Coudersport, he married Beverly J. Phelps, who passed away on September 20, 2018.
Kenny attended Coudersport High School. He was employed as a truck driver for his entire working career. He first hauled milk in milk cans and later owned and operated a logging company with his brother-in-law, Paul Phelps. He was then employed delivering feed and spreading lime. His last position was with Max Greeley and Sons in Coudersport, retiring at 81.
Kenny, in his spare time, enjoyed working on his tractors. He also enjoyed his hobby farm. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially with his great-grandchildren, who brought joy to his life.
Left to cherish his memory are a son, Kenneth L. (Nikki Thompson of North Fork) Rogers, Jr. of Coudersport; three grandchildren, Courtney (Caleb) Heitzenrater and Logan Rogers, both of Coudersport, and Margaret Lane of North Fork; three great-grandchildren, Maddox Heitzenrater, Elliana Heitzenrater, and Mary Kate Heitzenrater; a sister, Shirley Ahearn of Perkasie; a brother, Ralph Rogers of Winter Park, FL; a brother-in-law, Paul Phelps of Coudersport; a sister-in-law, Barbara Easton of Coudersport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Kenny was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Ward.
Family and friends may call from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 11am with Pastor Michael Reeves of North Eulalia Baptist Church, Coudersport, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Coudersport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kenny’s name may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 161, Coudersport, PA 16915 or to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Kenny’s family entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
