Mark A. “Mickey” Dickerson        â€œbeloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA----Mark A. “Mickey” Dickerson, 81, of Shinglehouse, passed away with his loving family by his side, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in his home following a long illness.
     Born September 12, 1931 in Bolivar, NY, he was a son of Mark and Ruth Sprester Dickerson.  On March 22, 1952 in Shinglehouse, he married Reba M. Clark, who survives.
     Mickey was employed at Alcas Cutlery in Olean and retired from the Oswayo Valley School District where he was employed as a custodian.
      Mickey attended Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church in Shinglehouse.   He enjoyed hunting, camping, and his home life.  He also enjoyed working with and restoring old furniture, and antiquing.
     Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Linda (Ken) Pierce of Shinglehouse, Valerie (Ray) Cope of Port Allegany, and Lori (Tom) Louser of Shinglehouse; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Avaard of Hillsboro, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.    
     In addition to his parents, Mr. Dickerson was predeceased by a granddaughter, Angela Bridge; three brothers, Norman Dickerson, Leo Dickerson, and Emmitt Dickerson; and two sisters, Alberta Lunn and Freda Langworthy.
      Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013 with the Rev. Roger N. Hain, pastor of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating.  Burial will be in East Sharon Cemetery.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library, PO Box 188, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
