Mary B. Contant                    “beloved wife, mother, and grandmother”

COUDERSPORT, PA---Mary B. Contant, 87, 0f Coudersport, passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, after a long illness.

Born on Thursday, November 3, 1938 in Longview, Texas, she was a daughter of Kirby and Helen Dunning White. In 1955 in Spokane, WA, she married George W. Wilson, who passed away in 1989. On June 20, 1998 in Coudersport, she married Gilles S. Contant, who survives.

Mary was employed for many years at the former Pure Carbon in Coudersport. She enjoyed spending time at her cabin and tending to her flower beds. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years; three daughters, Suzann L. (Todd) Anderson of Buena, NJ, Elizabeth Jo (John) Wylie of Genesee, and Claudine P. (Joe) Prosser of Maroin, SC; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda (Matthew), Jared, Melissa, John IV, Scott, Jenna and Bella; three great-grandchildren, Svea, Eness, and Asa; a sister, Helen Crescenze of Massillon, OH; a brother, Robert (Marlene) White of Roy, WA; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Mary was predeceased by a daughter, Erika S. Contant; a grandson, Daniel Wylie; and three brothers.

Family and friends may gather from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, December 8, 2025, at God’s Country Ministries, 1237 E. Second Street, Coudersport, where funeral services will follow at 7pm with Pastors Dan and Sally Brehm, officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Coudersport.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to God’s Country Ministries Food Share Program, 1237 E. Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.

Mary’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
