Mazie M. Collins                â€œbeloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend”

OLEAN, NY---Mazie M. Collins, 69, of Olean, NY and formerly of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, after a long illness.
     Born July 18, 1945 in Bradford, she was a daughter of Lewis H. and Gladys M. Shelley Halladay.  In 2000 in Olean, she married Patrick W. Collins, who passed away in 2010.
     Mazie attended Wellsville schools.  She was a homemaker. She loved to do crafts with her nieces and nephews.  She most especially loved spending time with her family and friends.  She had a great sense of humor.
     Surviving are five children, Tina Marie Haynes of Sarasota, Florida, Paul (Renee) Lehman of Clarksville, VA, Pauletta (Roger) Schenck of North Carolina, Gena (Tony) Main of Friendship, and Gene (Laurie) Dreier of North Tonawanda; twenty grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Max (Marguerite) Halladay of Wellsville; seven sisters, Loretta (Bart) Landon of Oswayo, Faith (Norm) Hurd of Port Allegany, Freda (John) Ullrich of Gaines, Nancy Shoemaker of Genesee, Rose Reynolds of Shinglehouse, Roxanne (Lanny) Schuckers of Emporium, and Madeline Halladay of the state of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents and husband, Mazie was predeceased by a grandson, Kaleb Haynes; two brothers, Marvin and David Halladay; a sister, Furella Barrett; a stepsister, Darlene Ulmer; and two nephews, Ronald Brooks and Donald Hanson, Jr.
    Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.
     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, PO Box 105 Glenolden, PA 19036.
