Merle J. Sherwood

COUDERSPORT, PA---Merle J. Sherwood, 85, a longtime resident of Coudersport, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness.
     Born January1, 1928 in Shinglehouse, he was a son of Burdette and Sara Dickerson Sherwood.
     Merle was employed as a farm hand by Jack Jones in Coudersport for many years.
     He loved farming, fishing, digging ginseng and riding his bicycle.
     Surviving is his sister, Ann B. Sherwood of Coudersport.
     In addition to his parents, Merle was predeceased by two sisters, Elberta J. Sherwood and Betty L. Welliver.
     Graveside burial services were held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sweden Valley Manor Patient Activity Fund, 1028 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
