Michael J. Davis “beloved husband, son, father, and brother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Michael J. “Mike” Davis, 48, of Shinglehouse, passed away in his home with his loving family by his side, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Monday, July 11, 1977 in Coudersport, he was a son of Wallace E. “Ed” Jr. and Robin L. Hammond Davis. On May 6, 2011 in Coudersport, he married Laura M. Babcock DeLong, who survives.
Michael was a graduate of Port Allegany High School. Until his retirement due to his illness, Michael was employed at Morgan Advanced Materials in Coudersport where he was a drafting design tech.
He was a member of the Wellsville Country Club in Wellsville, NY. He was an avid golfer. Being very athletic and competitive, he enjoyed many outdoor sports and games. He also enjoyed playing pool. He loved music and was a Classic Rock fan. Michael was beloved by all that knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Laura; his parents of Coudersport; his paternal grandparents, Wallace “Wally” Sr. and Janet Davis of Edgewater, FL; a daughter, Mackenzie Davis of Coudersport; a son, Alex Davis of Williamsport; three stepchildren, Tiffany (Jeremy) Perkins of Harrisburg, Danielle (Kyle O’’Laughlin) DeLong of Allegany, NY, and Maverick (Ciarra) DeLong of Bradenton, FL; three step-grandchildren, Paxton Perkins, Lennon DeLong-Stavisky, and Lily Perkins; a sister, Angel (Shon) James of Coudersport; several nieces and nephews; two uncles, Alvin (Karen) Hammond of N. Augusta, SC and Robert Hammond of Pennsylvania; and four aunts, Darlene (John) Magee of N. Augusta. SC, Annette (Rob) Schultz of DeLand, FL, Nancy (Rod) Simar of Port Allegany, and Teri Riggins of Oak Hill, FL.
Michael was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert Hammond and Cornelia Hammond Baker.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Michael’s life from 1pm to 3pm on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the Coudersport American Legion, 2 Buffalo Street, Coudersport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael’s name may be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Michael’s wife has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
