SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Mona L. Resig, 84, of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY, after a brief illness.
     Born September 7, 1930 in Hollidaysburg, she was a daughter of Henry C. and Ova N. Redden Adams.  On September 10, 1949 in Duncansville, she married George W. Resig, who passed away March 4, 2003.
     She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.  Mrs. Resig was employed as a secretary at the former Clark Brothers in Olean and later as a secretary at the former Clair Manufacturing in Olean. She was then employed as a secretary at CONAP, which is now Cytec Industries in Olean, from where she retired.
     Mrs. Resig was a member of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and a Communion steward.  She was a member of the Circle One women’s group of the church.  She enjoyed knitting and was a great cook.
     Surviving are a daughter, Cathy E. (Gregory) Cone of Shinglehouse; a son, Steven D. (Deborah) Resig of Shinglehouse; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard E. (Barbara) Adams of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Resig was predeceased by a daughter, Kelly J. Little; and a sister, Vivian E. Bess.
     Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA.
