Nancy L. Reed “beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister”
COUDERSPORT, PA---Nancy L. Reed, 57, of Coudersport, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 2, 2017, in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, following a courageous 22 year battle with cancer.
Born on October 5, 1959 in West Grove, she was a daughter of Theodore and Clara Boyle Troupe. On July 27, 1991 in Portville, NY, she married Jeffery W. Reed, who survives.
Nancy was a graduate of Coudersport High School, Class of 1978. She held numerous positions in the area, however her most cherished position was being a mother and grandmother and caring for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and grandchildren, documenting these events through her talent of scrapbooking. Nancy was known by all who met her for her sweet and gentle spirit.
Surviving in addition to her husband Jeff, are four beloved daughters, Christina L. (Rob Raymond) Renko of Browns Summit, NC, Jessica M. (Rob) Giebel of Coudersport, Samantha J. (Shaun McGory) Reed of Coudersport, and Sierra E. Reed of Rochester, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Madison, and Alyson; five brothers, Theodore (Yolonda) Troupe of Shinglehouse, Thomas (Leslie) Troupe of Coudersport, Timothy (Laura Kemp) Troupe of Charlevoix, Michigan, Terry (Jamie Standridge) Troupe of Coudersport, and Nicholas (Carole) Troupe of Coudersport; her mother-in-law, Sharon Reed of Coudersport; a brother-in-law, Danny (Riva Avelar) Reed of San Antonio, TX; many extended family members; her honorary father, Chris Cress of Coudersport; and her beloved “sister”, Lora Cope of Coudersport.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents.
Family and friends may call from 10am to 12 noon on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Coudersport Free Methodist Church, 507 Main Street, Coudersport, where a memorial service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Pete J. Trembly, officiating. Burial will follow in Sweden Hill Cemetery, Coudersport.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Patterson Cancer Care Center, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915 or to Volunteers That Care, PO Box 750, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Nancy’s family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
