Norma L. Roseman       “beloved mother, grandmother and aunt”

AUSTIN, PA---Norma L. Roseman, 90, a lifelong resident of Austin, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a period of declining health.
     Born March 24, 1925 in Austin, she was a daughter of Fraley J. and Edith G. Allison VanWhy.  On April 19, 1947 she married Tony J. Roseman, who passed away August 26, 1971.  
     Mrs. Roseman was a graduate of Austin High School.  She was employed for over 35 years at Emporium Specialties in Austin.
     Mrs. Roseman was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin.  Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
     Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl A. (Francis) Burgett of North Tonawanda, NY and Debra M. (Darwin) Reese of Austin; two granddaughters, Jennifer L. (Curt) Leightley of Austin and Magen L. Ludwig of Coudersport; three great-grandchildren, Nicholas O. Leightley, Noah A. Leightley, and Elyssa R. Leightley, all of Austin; two sisters, Doris C. Fowler of Austin and Aldean Cochran of Turtlepoint; many nieces and nephews, including Mark VanWhy of Austin; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
     In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Roseman was predeceased by three brothers, Fred VanWhy, Ed VanWhy, and Otis Davenport; and a sister, Lucille Cochran.
     Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Turner Street, Austin, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon following visitation with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine/St. Paul Cemetery, Costello.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Austin Volunteer Fire Department or the Austin Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 328, Austin, PA 16720.
     Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
