ELDRED, Pa.---Norman L. “Norm” Milne, 72, a longtime resident of Eldred, passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, April 29, 2019, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, N.Y., after an unexpected illness of a few days.

Born on Monday, January 20, 1947 in Olean, he was a son of Kenneth B. and Lorena B. Stiles Milne.  On February 10, 2010 in Smethport, he married Rebecca L. “Becky” Irwin, who survives.

Norm attended Otto-Eldred High School and graduated from Portville (N.Y.) High School, Class of 1964.  Norm enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968 serving in Vietnam as a hospital corpsman from 1969 to 1970.

Norm was employed at the time of his death at Portville Truck in Portville, N.Y. and prior to that was employed a service manager for Terry’s Automotive in Olean, N.Y.  For several years he also owned and operated Norm’s Citgo in Demopolis, Alabama, a full service garage and muffler shop before moving back to Eldred in 1999.  He was very proud of his business “Indian Creek Deer Processing”, which he ran for several years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed participating in bass tournaments or just fishing with his wife, Becky.  He loved his many dogs, including his current dogs, Becca and Hunter.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Becky; six children, Tammy L. (Dan) Lindsay, Laurie (Darcy) Knapp, and Terrie (John) Austin, all of Port Allegany, Shawn Milne of Richburg, N.Y., Norma Sue “Susie” (Kurt) Jandrew of Cheektowaga, N.Y., and Rebecca Pangburn of Demopolis, Alabama; four stepchildren, Dayton (Gay) Mix, John (Judy) Mix, Laura Rutherford, and Eric (Tosha) Schoolmaster; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur (Darlene) Milne and Patrick (Jenny) Milne, both of Portville, N.Y. ; a sister, Diane (Brad) Babcock of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Norm was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lorraine Sue Milne; a grandson, Aaron David Mix; and a brother, Steven Milne.

Family and friends are invited to call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at the First Church of God, Main Street, Eldred, where a celebration of Norm’s life will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Kazimer, officiating.  Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Myrtle.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of God, 142 Main Street, Eldred, PA 16731; to the SPCA in Cattaraugus County, 2944 NY 16, Olean, NY 14760; McKean County SPCA, 80 Glenwood Avenue, Bradford, PA 16701; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Norm’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
