Richard Allen Sell    â€œbeloved brother and uncle”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Richard Allen “Rick” Sell, 50, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Hillsboro, NH, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the Palliative Care Unit of Cuba Memorial Hospital, Cuba, NY, after a long illness.
     Born on August 12, 1965 in Sellersville, he was a son of Clarence H. and Magdalena H. Schuppert Sell.
     He was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse.  Rick served his country in the U.S. Air Force until being injured and medically discharged.  He was employed at OSRAM Sylvania, in Hillsboro, NH, for over 25 years.
     Rick was a member of the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530 and a member of the Moose.  He loved sports, having been a fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Buffalo Bills, and the Buffalo Sabres.  He loved fishing with his friends and his nephew, Cole.  He also enjoyed hunting with his friends in New Hampshire.  He was a friend to all and had the ability to entertain the world.  He loved his beagle.
     Surviving are four sisters, Ellen Collins of Schwenksville, Kaye (Gary) Jordan of Shinglehouse, Suzanne (John) Frain of Boyertown, and Doris (John) Hansen of Cape Coral, Florida; many nieces and nephews; and his good friends in New Hampshire and Shinglehouse.
     Rick was predeceased by his parents.
     There will be no public visitation.  A celebration of Rick’s life with a picnic will be held this summer on a date and at a place to be announced.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rick’s name may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
     Rick’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
