Richard L. “Dick” Wilson     “beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother”

ARCADIA, FLORIDA----Richard L. “Dick” Wilson, 87, of Arcadia, formerly of Bolivar, NY, passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY.
     Born on July 17, 1928 in Allentown, NY, he was a son of Malon L. and Alta L. Torrey Wilson.  On October 25, 1947 in Ceres, NY, he married Elizabeth “Liz” M. Rathbun, who survives.
     Dick was a graduate of Bolivar High School, Bolivar, NY.  He was employed as a machinist by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY, retiring as a supervisor in 1983.
     He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hilton, a member of the Elks and the Moose.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing.  He was an avid sports fan.  He could fix anything and was a perfectionist at everything he did.  His greatest love was his family.  He and his wife traveled extensively.
     Surviving besides his loving wife of 67 years are a son, Daniel L. (Marti) Wilson of Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Terri D. (Wim) Vanderkooy of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly J. Phillips of Lockport, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
     In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by a daughter, Marcia L. Bevins; a sister, Marie L. Kellogg; and an infant brother, Raymond Wilson.
     Friends are invited to attend a graveside burial service at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in the East Sharon Cemetery, Plank Road, Shinglehouse, PA, with Mr. David Amidon of Shinglehouse, officiating.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
     Dick’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
