Dear Janet, Deb & family, I only found out about Bob's passing a few weeks ago, when a tribute of his life appeared in the Hornell Tribune Sunday Spectator Bob & I both started our coaching careers in the same year ('57)--he in Shinglehouse & myself in Belmont. We competed against each other in what was called "Town Team Baseball" in the Buffalo Evening News league. What a very special man! We didn't know one another well, but I always had the greatest respect and admiration for him as a man, and, the success he had in coaching! I was able to keep tabs on Bob after I left coaching whenever I visited Troy and saw Deb. God's richest blessings to you and your family.

Dear Dunsmore Family,
How wonderful it is that you had this man so many of us still call Coach forty years later, as a father, grandfather, great grandfather, and husband. He truly directed and altered the lives of so many for the better, by his example of what it was to be a good man. As a coach, he taught us an understanding of the game, the importance of working together as a single unit, of caring for each other as you do your own family. We learned that Jiminy Crickets could be more effective than any swearword at conveying a message without belittling the person needing a course correction. Please know that all of us who have left notes here are just a single teardrops in the ocean men and woman, taught as boys and girls how to be kinder to one another, how to be a loving parent, how to listen, to be fair, to play by the rules, and we hope that all of you know how much his time spent away from you helped all of us to be more like him. Thank you!

To the Dunsmore Family,
I had the pleasure and honor of knowing Bob from 1976 to 1980. I played baseball for Olean in the Olean AlleCatt League. Bob was an umpire. We used to tease each other about balls and strikes as I was a catcher for the Olean team. I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I consider myself very lucky to have known Bob. He once told me he thought I had the goods to make it to the pros. Knowing Bob seemed to bring out a little more goodness in myself. May God bless your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Heaven is now extra special since Bob is residing there.

God Bless,
