Ronald J. Schiralli
The day of July 11th, 2026 began as it should have, with Ronald J. Schiralli (Ron) stringing cords and musical equipment across a stage in preparation for our annual family JamFest. Then family and friends were gathered, music swayed the trees, and his voice carried over the hills. All was normal- or rather right, until the band paused for an announcement, where Ron suddenly collapsed from what we would later learn was cardiac arrest. The event was so unexpected that the majority of attendees were confident he would wake up grumpy in the hospital with quite a few words to share. Ron was an extraordinary musician who also worked as a skilled Die Maker. Besides his passion for music, Ron loved everything about the outdoors, including tending to and planting flowers, hiking, fishing and even the occasional hunting trip. He also took great care when it came to his friends and extended family, constantly showing that he was a great friend and an even better man. There was no doubt that he held even greater love and devotion to his wife, his children, and their spoiled cat. Ron was a resident of Buffalo, NY but found himself often visiting his home town in Alden, Bolivar, the familiar woods of Port Allegany. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jean (Nuwer) Schiralli. He passed away at the age of 64, leaving behind his wife, Evelyn “Gin” Schiralli, his children Sarah “Lettie” Kusar, Cody Kusar and the fluffy cat, Sol; his siblings Karen Von Ohlen (Tim), Tom Schiralli (Joe), and Brenda Rothenberg (James); along with nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later time.
