Teresa A. Harmon âbeloved wife, sister, and auntâ
CERES, NY---Teresa A. âTâ Harmon, 66, of Ceres, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a long illness.
Born November 7, 1945 in Buffalo, she was a daughter of Charles and Matilda âTillyâ Karowitz Cappelletti. On April 15, 1972 in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Portville, she married Gordon W. Harmon, who survives.
Teresa was a graduate of Portville High School in Portville, St. Francis School of Nursing in Olean, and Continental Beauty School in Olean. She was a LPN for 20 years, having worked at the Olean General Hospital and the former Hewitt Manor Nursing Home in Shinglehouse where she was supervisor for a number of years. For over 20 years she was the proprietor and operator of Teresaâs Beauty Shop in Ceres until she became ill.
Teresa was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Portville. She enjoyed doing many types of crafts and loved to cook. Her greatest love was her family, especially her husband.
Surviving besides her husband are a sister, Mary (Brian) Hatch of Olean; a brother, Charles (Barbara) Cappelletti of Olean; and two nieces and three nephews.
Mrs. Harmon was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may call on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Father Thomas E. Brown, pastor of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Shinglehouse, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Ceres, PA
The rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.
