Thomas G. Crum                               “beloved husband, father, and grandfather”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Thomas G. “Tom” Crum, 71, of Shinglehouse, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in UPMC Hamot, Erie.

Born on Wednesday, March 3, 1954 in Shinglehouse, he was a son of Gilbert R. and Doris Welch Crum. On October 30, 1982 in Shinglehouse, he married Carol L. Gilliland, who survives.

Tom was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. He proudly served in the US Air Force. He was a professional truck driver until his retirement.

An avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed hunting and trap shooting. He was a member of the Oswayo Valley Rod and Gun Club in Millport where he had previously served as president. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of almost 43 years; five children, Danielle L. (Kelby) Fuller of Shinglehouse, Brian N. Whitcher of Hornell, NY, Jeremy L. (Kelly) Crum of Fleetwood, Amy M. (Josh) Jordan of Shinglehouse, and Peter T. (Sara) Crum of Shinglehouse; eight grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, Shaniah, Cody, Brielle, Bella, Alayna, and Noah; three great-grandchildren, Braelynn, Walker, and Cora; two brothers, Merle (Linda “Dar”) Crum of Port Allegany and Doug (Donna) Crum of Roulette; a sister, Rhonda Sheppard of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a sister, Onalee Thurst; a brother, Wayne “Skip” Crum; and a nephew, Clinton Sheppard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tom’s name may be made to Oswayo Valley Rod and Gun Club, PO Box 186, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on a date and place to be determined.

Tom’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
