Thomas W. Lamar “beloved husband, father, and grandfatherâ€
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Thomas W. Lamar, 66, of Shinglehouse, a former longtime resident of Bolivar, NY and also a former resident of Eldred, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a lengthy illness.
Born on April 2, 1949, he was a son of William and Esther Stillway Lamar. On April 10, 1973 in Port Allegany, he married Marcia A. Prindle, who survives.
Thomas attended Lottsville Elementary School and graduated from Youngsville High School.
He had formerly worked as a custodian at the Bolivar-Richburg School and had also been employed as a logger and a sawmill worker before his retirement.
Surviving besides his wife of Shinglehouse are two daughters Leoma (Chris) Lowman of Eldred and Daisy Post of Bradford; a son, Danny (Marie) Lamar of Shinglehouse; eight grandchildren; a sister, Sharon (Clyde) Hilyer of Clarendon; a niece; and several nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a son Denny Lamar; and two sisters, Shirley Griffith and Patricia Dexter.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mrs. Marcia Lamar, 30 Pinney Lane, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
Tom’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
