Troy A. Pease                   “beloved son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Troy A. Pease, 29, of Shinglehouse, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY.

Born on Tuesday, October 24, 1995 in Coudersport, he was a son of Shane A. Pease and Sheila M. Gross Hathaway.

Troy was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. He was formerly employed by Norton’s Building Supply in Shinglehouse. He had also been employed for Clara Township and had served on the Clara Township Election Board. He was beloved by his customers whom he did yard work and landscaping.

Troy loved dirt track racing and sitting by a campfire. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Troy’s smile lit up the room. He brought joy to family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his father, Shane, of Shinglehouse; his mother and stepfather, Sheila and Brian Hathaway, of Coudersport; a brother, Tyler J. (Heather) Pease of Shinglehouse; a sister, Caitlin P. (Mark Olmstead, Jr.) Pease of Shinglehouse; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Gross of Coudersport; a niece, Addison M. Olmstead; a nephew, Waylon A. Olmstead; two aunts; several cousins; and many friends.

Troy was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Carolyn Pease; and his maternal grandfather, Duane Gross.

A celebration of Troy’s life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Crosstown Alliance Church, Honeoye Street, Shinglehouse, with Pastor Tim Taylor, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Troy’s name may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 475, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.

Troy’s family entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
