Vicki Leigh McDonald Keegan “beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend”

BAREFOOT BAY, Florida---Vicki Leigh McDonald Keegan, 58, of Barefoot Bay, formerly of Little Genesee, N.Y., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 16, 2021 in Sebastian River Medical Center, Sebastian, Florida.
Born on Friday, December 14, 1962 in Wellsville, N.Y., she was a daughter of Theodore R. “Ted” and Betty Jane Ransom McDonald. She married John “Major” Keegan, who survives.
Vicki was a graduate of Bolivar High School, Class of 1982 and also graduated from the BOCES program where she majored in the food service program.
Vicki was employed in the food and hospitality industry and most recently as a manicurist and pedicurist at her friend Leah’s beauty salon in Barefoot Bay.
She enjoyed kayaking, boating, and golfing. She loved to dance and have a great time. She was a people person who loved helping her elderly salon customers. When you were with Vicki she had the knack of making you feel like you were the most important person, directing her entire attention on you.
Surviving in addition to her husband are seven brothers and sisters, Robert McDonald of Little Genesee, Sherry (Steve) Childs of Bolivar, Teddy McDonald, Jr. of Bolivar, Kimmy Gliden of Genesee, Pa., Roger McDonald of Little Genesee, Fred (Elise) McDonald of Bolivar, and Jeff McDonald of Dallas, Texas; many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved; many beloved grandnieces and grandnephews; cousins; and friends.
Vicki was predeceased by her mother on February 18, 2000; by her father who passed away on May 14, 2021, just two days before her passing; a brother, Douglas Wayne McDonald; a sister-in-law, Dawn Andres; and two nephews, Wesley McDonald and Bobby McDonald.
Vicki’s life was celebrated on Friday, May 21, 2021 during her father’s services which were held at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa., with the Rev. David Cook, pastor of Obi Community Church, Obi, N.Y., officiating.
Vicki will be laid to rest with her mother and father in Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Vicki’s family is being assisted by Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa.
