PORTVILLE, NY---Wesley D. Wilber, 24, of Portville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29, 2017 in the Olean General Hospital, Olean.

Born on June 18, 1992 in Bradford, PA, he was a son of Randall D. “Randy” and Linda A. Hellmann Wilber.

Wesley was a graduate of Portville Central High School, Class of 2010 and was currently attending Jamestown Community College in Olean.  He had been employed as a cook at several area restaurants. 

Wesley loved music, fishing, kayaking, and cooking.  He had a great love for people and had an infectious personality, lighting up the room when he arrived.  He loved his Rottweiler, Ruger. 

Surviving besides his parents of Portville are a brother, Evan D. Wilber of Portville; his paternal grandparents, Loren D. and Janet C. Randall Wilber of Westons Mills; paternal uncle, Lance Wilber of Portville; paternal aunts, Lori Wilber Weitzel of Portville and Kari Wilber (Larry) Evans of Eldred, PA; maternal uncles, Steven (Doris) Hellmann of Harleysville, PA and Karl (Darlene) Hellmann of Denver, PA; maternal aunt, Heidi Hellmann (John) Gore of Delmar, Delaware; and several cousins.

Wesley was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Kenneth Hellmann and Joanne Hellmann Beckwith; and his step-grandfather, James Beckwith.

Private funeral services will held at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse with Bryan D. Garrett, pastor of the Olean Community Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the East Sharon Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
