Willard L. Hafler “beloved brother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Willard L. “Will” Hafler, 90, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Coudersport and Hellertown, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in Bradford Manor, Bradford after a short illness.
Born on Friday, February 1, 1935 in Bethlehem, PA, he was a son of Winfield E. and Bertha A. Becker Hafler.
Will was a graduate of Palisades High School in Ferndale, PA. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War.
He was a rigger in the Bitterroot Mountains in Idaho. He then went to Africa where he was employed as a personal security guard for farmers in Rhodesia. Will moved back to Fort Laramie, Wyoming where he was the manager of an antique store and was the town storyteller.
Will was a lifetime member of the NRA. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed big game hunting.
Surviving are his sister, Susan Ritton of North Hampton, PA; a brother, David Hafler of Brandon, Mississippi; a niece and a nephew.
He was predeceased by his parents.
In keeping with Will’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hellertown.
Will entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
