Alexander Garcia Phillips

September 17, 2001 — July 14, 2022

Alexander Garcia Phillips “loving son, brother, and friend; forever in our hearts, between hello...and goodbye there was much love”

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Alexander Garcia “AP” Phillips, 20, of Shinglehouse, formerly of North Little Rock, Arkansas, departed us too soon on Thursday, July 14, 2022, in his home in Shinglehouse.

Born on Monday, September 17, 2001 in Little Rock, Arkansas, he was a son of Ashlee S. Phillips.

He was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 2020, in Shinglehouse. During his high school years, AP played football, basketball, and baseball. He was formerly employed at Sanzo Beverage Company in Olean, N.Y.

He was most well known as “Alex”, “Bub” or “AP” to those closest to him. AP was the brightest light on the darkest of days. His smile and joy flooded the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. He was goofy and playful beyond compare. A true dare devil in the face of any opportunity for adventure. His smiling face and joyous personality will be deeply missed by everyone who grew to know and love him. He loved the outdoors, 4-wheeling, dirt bikes, fast cars, gaming, and wrestling with his family. AP especially loved spending time with “The Boys”.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Ashlee S. Phillips of Shinglehouse; Lloyd “Rock” McCuien of Maumelle, Arkansas, who raised AP from a very young child; his grandmother, Rama Sue (Tom) Briley-Pearce of Poteau, OK; three sisters, Kayla N. (Silas) Nellums, Destiny H. Phillips, and Jessica McGehee, all of Maumelle, Arkansas; a brother, Greg Wallace, Jr. of Maumelle, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and many brother/sister like bonds he formed with so many.

AP was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Donald Earle Phillips; his maternal great-grandparents, Guy and Thelma Phillips and B.C. and Jeanette Briley.

Family and friends may call from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 6pm in the funeral home with Pastor Clint Pearsall of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a local mental health awareness group.

AP’s family has entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
