Ann P. Meacham “beloved wife, mother, and grandmother”

 

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Ann P. Meacham, 83, of Shinglehouse, passed away with her loving family by her side on Friday, January 28, 2022, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a long illness.

     Born on Friday, April 1, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was a daughter of George Frederick and Anna Wilson Merryman. She was raised by her stepfather, Michael Capinjola, Sr. On November 7, 1958 in Port Allegany, “Peach” married Richard L. “Dick” Meacham, who survives.

     Ann was a graduate of Bradford High School. After graduation, she was employed at the Bradford Hospital in the cafeteria. She was later employed for many years as a bookkeeper for the former Hanel’s Friendly Service in Shinglehouse. She was also employed for many years at Cummins Cider Mill in Portville, N.Y. Ann had previously served as Judge of Elections in Shinglehouse Borough for numerous years.

     Ann attended the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. She was a life member of the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530 Ladies Auxiliary where she had been extremely active in all the activities of the organization, one being the former Sunday morning breakfasts. She was a life member and past matron of Eureka Chapter #52 O.E.S. in Shinglehouse. Ann enjoyed sending cards to her family and friends. Her greatest love was her family.

     Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 63 years; a daughter, Debra L. (John) Fetzer of Shinglehouse; a son, Mark R. (Jennifer) Meacham of Shinglehouse; seven grandchildren, Jamie (Ray Morales) Fetzer, Jill (Luke) Resig, Dustin (Trista) Fetzer, Daniel Fetzer, Brandon (Arbita) Meacham, Brittany (Shawn) Champlin, and Brayden (Taylor) Meacham; thirteen great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Aubree, Aidan, Aubrey, Olivia, Zaydin, Alec, Avianna, Tanner, Cohen, Owen, Ivorie, and Layken; a brother, George (Betty) Merryman of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and stepfather, Ann was predeceased by a sister, Christina Bennett and her husband, Charles Bennett; and a brother, Michael Capinjola.

     In keeping with Ann’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. There are no services currently scheduled at this time.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530 Ladies Auxiliary, 1364 SR 44S, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to Eureka Chapter #52 O.E.S., c/o Joanne Maxson, Secretary, 1519 Eleven Mile Road, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.

     Ann’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
