COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Dolores Mae Peters, 92, a longtime resident of Coudersport, formerly of York, PA, passed away at UPMC Cole Place, Coudersport, on Sunday, February 27, 2022, after a short illness.

Dolores Mae Brown (Peters) was born on January 7, 1930, in Manchester, Pennsylvania, the only child of Eva and Guy Brown and stepfather Claire Becker. She grew up and went to high school in Manchester.

She married Lavere James Peters on June 3, 1956, in Maryland. Dolores worked for Standard Register for 10 years. Then she became a secretary/bookkeeper for L.J. Peters Plumbing and Heating on Springwood Road in York. Dolores and Lavere both retired and moved to Potter County, PA, in 1995, to their A-frame cabin that they built with their sons.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, gardening, and spending time with her family. Both she and Lavere enjoyed traveling all over the world prior to and after their retirement.Dolores served as a volunteer at the former Patterson Cancer Center, Coudersport (now UPMC Hillman Cancer Center).

Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband Lavere J. Peters, who passed away on March 4, 2021; and an infant son, Lavere Junior.

Dolores is survived by sons, Max L. Kopp, Jr. and wife Julie, and Randy L. Kopp and wife Donna; 6 grandchildren: Chloe Smith and fiancé Wayne, Max Kopp III and fiancé Tammy, Damon Kopp and wife Rebecca, Corrine Kopp, Jeff Boeckel and wife Kama, and Bryan Boeckel and wife Melissa; her great-grandchildren, who include Cameron and Holden Smith, Laiken and Sonny Kopp, Logan, Lauren and Landon Dontell, Tenley and Rylee Kopp, Sasha Hoffman, Kara, Eric, and Hunter Boeckel; and many great-great grandchildren.

In keeping with Dolores’ wishes, there will be no public services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport PA 16915.

Dolores entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
