Dylan C. “DP” Pesock “beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend”

 

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Dylan C. “DP” Pesock, 21, of Shinglehouse, passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Monday, January 31, 2022.

     Born on Monday, May 15, 2000, in Wellsville, N.Y., he was a son of Shane C. and Sonya K. Hackett Pesock.

     Dylan was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 2018, in Shinglehouse and was a graduate of Mercyhurst North East with a degree in Criminal Justice. At the time of his death, he was employed by T.L.C. (Tyler Lynn Chris) Contracting in Bolivar, N.Y.

     As a youth, Dylan was very active at Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. He attended Crosstown Alliance Church in Wellsville, N.Y. where he was baptized. He was an outstanding wrestler. While at Oswayo Valley High School, he qualified and wrestled in the state tournament. His high school wrestling career earned him a very nice scholarship at Mercyhurst North East where he was on the wrestling team for two years. While in college Dylan wrestled in the NJCAA National Tournament for Mercyhurst, being a two time national qualifier. He was a mentor for young wrestlers from the area at the Wolverine Den in Bolivar. While in high school, he also ran Cross Country for 3 years and had played baseball as a youth.

     Dylan was adamant about being outdoors whether hunting, fishing, or just being outside enjoying nature.

     Left to cherish his memory are his parents of Shinglehouse; his sister, Kellcey G. Pesock of Olean, N.Y.; his paternal grandparents, John E. “Papa John” and Ivy K. “Mama I” Pesock of Shinglehouse; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth A. and Sharon S. Hackett of Stannards, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many close friends. Dylan had a special place in his heart for his aunts and uncles, especially his Uncle Jim.

     Dylan was predeceased by his uncle, Chad E. Pesock.

     Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, 392 Coon Crossing Road, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 1pm with Roger N. Hain, pastor emeritus of Black Creek Baptist Church and Pastor Phil Seely, of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.

     In lieu of flowers, donations in Dylan’s name are respectfully requested to either the Bolivar Youth Wrestling, 198 Salt Rising Road, Bolivar NY 14715 or to the Shinglehouse Wrestling Club, c/o Dustin & Kristy Good, 117 E. Honeoye Street, Shinglehouse, PA 16748, of which Dylan was deeply involved in both programs.

      Dylan’s family has entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
