Elna D. Murray “former Shinglehouse, Pa. Resident, she will be truly missed”

LECANTO, Florida---Elna D. Murray, 88, of Lecanto, formerly of Shinglehouse, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, July 4, 2022, in Lecanto Hospice House, Lecanto, Florida, after a short illness.
Born on Monday, February 5, 1934 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Wallace and Cora Corwin Newton. She married Howard M. Murray who survives, on April 7, 1972 in Shinglehouse, celebrating their 50^th anniversary this year.

Elna was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School, Class of 1952. She was employed by the former Viko Furniture Corporation in Eldred as an upholsterer.

While living in Shinglehouse, Elna attended the Millport United Methodist Church. She was an avid bowler, loved to read and do crafts.

Surviving in addition to her husband are seven children, Rodney Murray of Utah, Calvin Murray of Pennsylvania, Dixie Clinton of Texas, Jerry Murray of California, Carol Wilson of Florida, Scott A. Coleman of Utah, and Deanna L. Lara of California; thirteen grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Elna was predeceased by a son, Michael J. Coleman; a grandson, Christopher Wilson; a great-granddaughter, Madison Clinton; and six brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, Pa., where a memorial service will follow at 1pm with the Rev. Russell J. Horning of Shinglehouse, officiating.  Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.

Elna entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa.
