Lyle A. Bean             “beloved brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather”

 

CUBA, N.Y.---Lyle A. Bean, 84, of Cuba, formerly of Shinglehouse, Pa., entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Cuba Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.

     Born on Thursday, September 9, 1937 in Portville, N.Y., he was a son of Arthur and Ruth I. Maxon Bean.  On July 15, 1970 in Westons Mills, he married Julia V. Mazur Nellis, who passed away on February 26, 2018.

    Lyle attended school in Hinsdale.

     Lyle worked for Alcas Corporation for 32 years, retiring in 2000 from their maintenance department.

     He and his late wife Julia traveled with their camping club and enjoyed seeing many historical sites across the United States after retiring. Lyle enjoyed woodworking and his trucks over the years.

     He will be missed by family and friends. 

     Surviving are two brothers, Ernest Bean of Cuba, NY and Edward (Sharon) Bean of Bethlehem, Pa.; eight children, Monalisa Miles, Marcella Steele, Marlene Yeaples, Meldia Justice, Mark Hathaway, Marcia Green, Luther Hathaway, and Rosemarie Kaluza; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents and wife, Lyle was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor; and three brothers, Lewis Hathaway, Merle Bean, and Howard Bean.

     In keeping with Lyle’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.

     Lyle entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home,
