Randall S. “Jack” Pease “beloved husband, father, and grandfather”

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Randall S. “Jack” Pease, 91, of Shinglehouse, passed away in his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, June 30, 2022, after a long illness.

Born on Saturday, April 4, 1931 in Coudersport, he was a son of K. Randall and Martie D. Holter Pease. On August 19, 1953 in Shinglehouse, he married Anita M. Peet, who passed away on May 30, 2005. On June 10, 2006 in Shinglehouse, he married Janice E. Gustin Woodkirk, who survives.

Jack attended a one room schoolhouse in Inez. He enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War, serving in Okinawa, Japan. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1952, attaining the rank of Corporal.

Jack was employed full time at the former Dresser-Rand in Olean, retiring in 1986. While employed there, he also was an independent logger, having used horses to pull the logs instead of a skidder. He also ran a dairy farm during this time.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. He enjoyed raising and caring for horses, ponies and other livestock. He enjoyed hunting and farming. His greatest love was spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janice; two daughters, Kay L. (Bruce) Danforth of Shinglehouse and Nita Rae (Timothy) Spencer of Roulette; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Duell of Coudersport; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Jack was predeceased by an infant daughter, Judith L. Pease; twin sons, Randall W. Pease and Ronald W. Pease; six sisters, Marjorie R. Pease, Elaine Gardener, Patricia D. Sherwood, Charlotte Brooks, Phyllis Pease, and Carolyn B. Pease; and two brothers, Donald H. Pease and Kenneth S. Pease.

Family and friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 1pm with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, of Shinglehouse, and Pastor Clint Pearsall, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in the East Sharon Cemetery, Shinglehouse.

Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord full military honors on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 68, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.

Jack entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
