Steven S. Unangst “beloved son, brother, uncle and friend”

ROULETTE, Pa.---Steven S. “Steve” Unangst, 52, of Roulette, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 7, 2023, in UPMC Wellsboro.

Born on Saturday, June 6, 1970 in Ephrata, he was a son of Ray E. Unangst and Patricia L. “Pat” Haldeman Unangst Kagarise.

Steve was a graduate of Ephrata High School. After graduating he was employed as a carpenter, where he also built pole barns. He later was a self-employed farmer owning and operating a dairy goat farm, Misty Maple Farm in Roulette. He also owned and operated Steve’s Farm Fresh Produce in Roulette.

He was a member of the ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association) and a member of the DurcLach Mt. Airy Fire Department.

He was famous for master gardening and known for his garlic beds. Steve enjoyed teaching his brother, Eric, how to show dairy cows and dairy goats. He loved the great outdoors, duck hunting, fishing, trapping and deer hunting. His dream was to go coon hunting with Eric again. He loved his three favorite Labs--Annie, Buck, and Cocoa. He enjoyed dirt track racing and taking Katie dog with John and Troy spotlighting deer. He was very excited and proud of his nephew, Troy, for taking up a leather working craft. He was all for letting his sis, Tanya, know when she was wrong. He most especially loved spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother and best friend, Pat; a brother, Eric Unangst; three stepbrothers; a sister by another mother, Tanya (Perry) Tanner; and two nephews, John and Troy Tanner.

Steve was predeceased by his father, Ray and his stepfather, Roger Kagarise.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Patricia Kagarise, 1666 Rte. 6W, Roulette, PA 16746.

Steve’s family entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
