Vernon L. Doran “loving husband, father, and grandfather”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Vernon L. Doran, 81, of Coudersport, formerly of Spokane, Washington, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born on Saturday, January 11,1941 in Los Angeles, California, he was a son of Vernon L. and Helen Reagan Doran. On May 3, 2016, in Coeur Dalene, Idaho, he married Jeanne S. Poland, who survives.
Vernon was employed as a diesel mechanic for many years by Eagle Towing and Recovery in Bellfonte until his retirement.
He was a member of the Coudersport Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed collecting antiques, especially old CB radios. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jeanne; a son, Rodney (Krista Sturdevant-Doran) Doran of Coudersport; a granddaughter, Gabrielle (Brock Clay) Sturdevant Doran of Coudersport; a grandson, Rodney Sturdevant Doran, Jr. of Coudersport; and a great-grandson due in July, Duke Amos Clay.
In addition to his parents, Vernon was predeceased by two sisters.
The celebration of life that was scheduled for Sunday, March 20, 2022, has been postponed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coudersport Seventh Day Adventist Church, PO Box 629, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Vernon’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
